Utilities and state energy offices have a tremendous opportunity to work together to help consumers use energy more efficiently. States will need help in planning to ensure that these monies are used quickly and cost-effectively. Utilities have administered energy efficiency programs for decades, and have infrastructures in place that can support a rapid, cost-effective ramp up in energy efficiency activities.
Jeff Genzer, General Counsel of the National Association of State Energy Offices (NASEO), will be speaking on ways utilities can best help energy offices in planning, administering, and implementing these programs. Applications are due to the DOE on May 12, 2009 (in eight weeks). This is the first in a series of IEE/EEI calls to discuss and document how utilities and state energy offices can and are working through the planning process for these funds in order to identify and share different approaches.
This event is limited to members from EEI and IEE, and invited participants. For call-in information contact TD Smith: 202-508-5440.
