Goals
The Board of Directors of the Edison Foundation established the Institute for Electric Efficiency (IEE) in 2008. Recognizing energy efficiency’s role in addressing climate change and in moderating the expected growth in electricity demand, IEE was created to focus on accelerating the industry’s energy-efficiency efforts and increasing the industry’s energy-efficiency investments.
IEE serves electric utilities, electricity customers, and energy policymakers across the country as a clearinghouse and resource for information, best practices, and innovation. Specifically, the Institute acts as a forum to:
- Advance energy-efficiency and demand response among electric utilities;
- Promote the sharing of information, ideas, and experiences in energy efficiency and demand response in the power sector; and
- Develop a resource base of effective business models, practices, and processes.
